The Brain Bank (Karolinska institutet)
Clinical and experimental neuropathology. Manages collection of postmortem human brain and spinal cord tissue.

Zebrafish Core Facility (KI)
Provides zebra fish from wildtype lines, and offer the possibility of bringing in mutant/transgenic fish lines of interest from other laboratories. Offer a wide range of techniques, including morpholino injections, whole mount in situ hybridisation, electron microscopy and immunofluorescence assays.

Provides bioinformatics support, training and infrastructure. Expertise in genomics, proteomics, biostatistics as well as large scale computing and big data analysis.

Provides methodological support for researchers in clinical matters, both in planning and carrying out studies.

The Scania Metadatabase for Epidemiology (LU)
Provides a catalogue of epidemiological studies collected within Lund University and Region Skåne. The catalogue currently comprises 50 studies including a total of more than 670 000 study participants, as well as biological samples from about 20 studies.

Karolinska High Throughput Center (KI)
KHTC offers access to automated screening and analysis platforms for applications in the fields of systems biology and drug discovery. Activities include, but are not limited to, HTS of siRNA and chemical compound libraries in various assays, analysis of biomolecular interactions and NGS projects. National facility within SciLifeLab.

Mutation Analysis Facility (KI)
Targeted DNA methylation, genome-wide DNA methylation, genome-wide genotyping, targeted SNP genotyping as well as genome-wide expression analysis. Regional facilities of national interest within SciLifeLab.

SCIBLU Genomics Facility (LU)
Offering integrated service within all -omics areas. SCIBLU Genomics provides access to the Affymetrix and Illumina technologies for SNP and CNV genotyping, ChIP-on-chip, arrayCGH genomic profiling, DNA methylation analysis, Exon, mRNA and miRNA expression profiling in various formats and species. Quality control of DNA or RNA is also available as a service at the centre.

Provides you with the service and information you need when planning or developing your product. Services include market analyses, concept evaluations, observational studies in hospital clinics, financial advice, feasibilities, and clinical trials. Access to test centers in universities and in hospitals, to health care records, to clinics and professionals in both primary and secondary care.

UCR (Uppsala universitet)
Provide assistance with all components of a clinical trial, or of selected parts.

Clinical Trial Center (Gothia Forum)
Offer advice and project support for clinical trials of medicines, treatments and medtech products.

A platform for supporting the initiation and execution of clinical studies.

A resource organisation for medical science. Offers, for example, services and support within all phases of clinical trials.

Karolinska Trial Alliance (KTA)
Stimulates, coordinates and carries out clinical studies in the Stockholm  region, Stockholm läns landsting (SLL).


The Drug Discovery and Development Platform
Offers integrated drug discovery efforts to the Swedish academic research community. Services are offered in the following areas: protein production, human antibody therapeutics, biochemical and cellular screening, medicinal and computational chemistry, DMPK (drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics), in vitro and systems pharmacology, as well as biophysical methods for molecular interaction studies.

Technology and know-how for biological visualization at the tissue, cell and subcellular level, as well as supportive analytical and preparative technologies; electron- confocal- and light- microscopy, and analytical, imaging and cell sorting flow cytometry.

Cellomics and Flow Cytometry Core Facility at MultiPark (LU)
Technical platforms for Cellomics High Content Screening/Analysis allowing acquisition and screening of Fluorescence Microscopy images, applying automated image analysis of fluorescence intensities in cells, subcellular compartments or small organisms.

Centre for Live Imaging of Cells (KI)
Provides access to confocal, 2-photon and fluorescence microscopes microscopy equipment and all training and assistance required for basic observations of living cells to long-term time-lapse recordings of whole animals, and access to software for data visualization, analysis and interpretation of 3D and 4D microscopy datasets.

Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (UMU)
Service in scanning and transmission electron microscopy.

The Human Protein Atlas (UU, KTH etc)
Portal, publicly available database with millions of high-resolution images showing the spatial distribution of proteins in 44 different normal human tissues and 20 different cancer types, as well as 46 different human cell lines. The data is released together with application-specific validation performed for each antibody, including immunohistochemisty, Western blot analysis and, for a large fraction, a protein array assay and immunofluorescent based confocal microscopy.

Imaging facility at Stockholm University (SU)
Provide hands-on training and advice for experimental set ups and guide users to the most suitable light- and electron-microscopy instrument for their specific project; confocal microscopes, TIRF/wide field fluorescence microscope, Wide field Fluorescence microscope, and CELL OBSERVER equipped for live cell imaging and microinjection.

Provides advanced microscopes, image analysis software and technical support.

Live Cell Imaging Unit (KI)
Traditional point scanning confocal microscopy, high throughput confocal microscopy, fast confocal microscopy (resonance scanner and spinning disk), Fluorescence LifeTime Imaging (FLIM), multiphoton microscopy, spectral imaging and super resolution microscopy (TIRF and STORM).

Lund University Bioimaging Center (LU)
Combines knowledge in the fields of medical physics, preclinical and clinical medicine, chemistry, technology and applied mathematics to provide and develop imaging tools for the advanced study of human morphology, cellular metabolism and physiological function in health and disease.

MR Research Center (KI)
MR Research capacity.

NatMEG is equipped with state-of-the-art stimulus and response equipment, allowing research on anything from visual, tactile and auditory processing, to memory, language and executive control.

National Center for Imaging Mass Spectrometry (Chalmers, GU)
One of the worlds most advanced laboratories for imaging mass spectrometry.

Two-photon microscopy at Bagadilico (LU)
Offers the possibility to visualize and quantify dynamic processes in living cells (neurons or glia) with very high temporal and spatial resolution. The in vitro infrastructure is designed to image deeper structures that are not accessible to in vivo microscopy.

Vibrational Spectroscopy Core Facility (UMU/SLU)
Provides Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy and microspectroscopy services, using state-of-the-art instrumentation and methodology to detect (and localize at micron and submicron level) chemical changes in various sample materials.


Metabolomics (UMU)
The UPSC mass spectrometry laboratory offers complete service for analysing metabolites; from initial planning of studies, through the laboratory processes to the final evaluation and visualization of results.


Advanced Mass Spectrometry Proteomics (KI)
Services using the best available proteomics techniques and methods not offered by any other facility in Sweden. Regional facility of national interest within SciLifeLab.

Clinical Proteomics – Mass Spectrometry (KI)
Mass spectrometry based analysis to generate extensive data on protein level changes in biological samples. Regional facilities of national interest within SciLifeLab.

Proteomics Core Facility (GU)
Biological mass spectrometry platform providing scientific expertise and advanced instruments for high quality analysis, interpretation of spectra and the implementation of data. MS is used for identification, quantification and characterization of proteins and peptides in biological samples using LTQ Orbitrap Velos, QExactive and Orbitrap Fusion Tribrid instruments.

Platforms for protein production, protein crystallography, and biophysical characterisation. National facility within SciLifeLab.

The proteomic platform at UPSC (UMU)
Provides infrastructure, service and development for research and education in protein science, proteomics and mass spectrometry. A complete proteomics workflow is available for analysis of post-translational modifications (electron dissociation mass spectrometer). Available services are 2-D DIGE automated spot picking, and protein analysis using MALDI- TOF and ESI-Q-TOF mass spectrometry.

SCIBLU Genomics Facility (LU)
Offering integrated service within all the main -omics areas. The proteomics platform provide access to a resource centre for protein analysis and identification. The centre has been equipped with integrated proteome analysis systems which consist of: 2D gel and HPLC systems, gel evaluation and matching software, robotic spot cutter, digester and target loader, MALDI mass spectrometer for protein fingerprinting and HPLC-MS/MS mass spectrometer for sequencing and protein modification analysis. This is co-ordinated by a laboratory information system for sample tracking and analysis.

Offers development, design and production of AAV vectors. AAV vectors can be used for the establishment of disease models, experimental gene therapy and basic experimental research of brain functions.

Albanova Nano-fabrication facility (KTH)
Provides micro- and nanometer scale fabrication, imaging and metrology.

Bioproduction Centre (KTH)
Offers biomass and protein production, process development, product purification, and analyses.

Biosafety Level 3 (KI)
A platform to develop research within the HIV field.

Health Science Lab (LU)
Offers physiological testing, training advice and consulting.

The Electron Microscopy unit Emil (KI)
Offers conventional preparation for TEM and SEM, preparation for immunohistochemistry, morphometric analysis, low temperature techniques such as low temperature embedding, high pressure freezing and cryosectioning.

The Laboratories for Chemical Biology at Karolinska Institutet (KI)
Screening and chemistry center. CBCS compound collection. National facility within SciLifeLab.

LP3 – Lund Protein Production Platform (LU)
Offers cloning, protein production in bacterial (E. coli) or eukaryotic (insect) cells, protein labelling, protein purification, and development of expression and purification protocols.

Mammalian Protein Expression (LU)
Production of recombinant proteins for research purposes. Mammalian cells are used as expression system to obtain proteins with post-translational modifications, such as glycosylation.

The MTC FACS Facility (KI)
High speed cell sorting and general flow cytometry analysis.

Deliver science in a broad range of fields including structure and dynamics of proteins in solution, protein crystallography and biomedical imaging.
